Rates from 9.9% APR: the exact rate you will be offered will be based on your circumstances, subject to status. Representative example: borrowing £7,000 over 5 years with a representative APR of 21.9%, the annual interest rate of 21.9% (Fixed) and a deposit of £0, the amount payable would be £185.33 per month, with a total cost of credit of£4,119.81 and a total amount payable of £11,119.81. We look to find the best rate from our panel of lenders and will offer you the best deal that you're eligible for. We receive a fixed fee commission per finance agreement, or we receive a commission based on a percentage of the total amount of finance taken. This will not affect the interest rate offered or the total amount repayable. Our service is free.

At Carplus, we are always adding to our list of services for your convenience. For example, our self-employed van finance service helps our customers get a car without a one-time payment of the entire cost. We are happy to help you get a van loan, even if you're self-employed.

The customer chooses the van, the amount of the down payment, and the agreement term. At the end of the period of the deal, you will become the complete owner of the vehicle. Contact Carplus for expert advice on van finance for the self-employed today!

Self-employed van finance options

There are several ways to get a van loan when self-employed. Let's take a closer look at them.

Van Hire Purchase (HP)

The hire purchase option is ideal if you are self-employed or have a bad credit history. This method of payment will allow you to spread the cost of the van evenly with monthly payments.

Van PCP

A PCP is a way to buy a van without paying for it outright. If you can't afford large monthly payments but still want to replace your van every 2-3 years, this is ideal for you.

Why is it more difficult to finance a van for the self-employed?

Put yourself in the lender's shoes. You'd be much more likely to trust a borrower who has a regular, verified income. With the self-employed, however, this is impossible - your employment and profits are uncertain and very volatile. There are no guarantees of stability.

But at Carplus, we have a vested interest in making sure that every person gets their credit. So after the initial screening, we review your application on an individual basis. We will ask you for three months of bank statements to prove your income (even if the amount differs from month to month).

Can I get a van financed if I'm self-employed and have bad credit?

Of course, you can! Carplus specialists have extensive experience in extending credit to people with bad credit histories, even the self-employed. After an initial review of your application, we will examine any individual circumstances that may affect your credit and consider your current financial events. With Carplus, you can count on van finance with bad credit.

Our criteria

To get a van loan, you must have been self-employed for at least 12 months. First, we will ask you to verify your income with the bank. Even if there are problems at this stage, we will do our best to process your transaction. However, it is worth bearing in mind the following factors:

  • We cannot finance VAT on a self-employed transaction
  • The maximum mileage of diesel can only be 160,000, and that of gasoline can only be 120,000
  • The financing period can only be between 18-60 months

Why choose carplus?

  2. We conduct HPI checks to ensure your full ownership.
  3. You have every chance of getting the best deal, even if you're self-employed or have a bad credit history.
